US Congressman Brad Sherman has asked President Donald Trump to reverse his ugly tariff policy on India, saying the President is looking for excuses to impose ugly tariffs on New Delhi under the guise of a Russian oil deal. Sherman stated that Hungary and China were not affected by Russia’s oil-related tariffs, but Trump highlighted India.
The leader of the US Congress, who serves in California’s 32nd District, wrote about “It gets 21% from Russia, but it is chosen as our Ally, the President should reverse this policy immediately.”

In particular, Trump had imposed an additional 25 percent customs duty on India for the purchase of Russian oil, which was recently withdrawn following the conclusion of the India-US trade agreement. The US imposes tariffs of approximately 30 percent on China, but this is not related to Russian oil.
