Suspected kidnapping bid on son of Himachal CM’s aide, unknown persons booked

Some unknown persons have been arrested in connection with the suspected attempt to kidnap the son of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s media advisor near Mashobra, about 11 kilometers from Shimla.

According to the information obtained, the incident took place late on Friday evening, March 20, when Aryan Chauhan, who is also the general secretary of Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress, was going to Shimla from his hotel in Mashobra.

Mr Chauhan tried to overtake an Alto car on his way to Shimla.

While he was doing this, Alto’s residents asked him to stop. When Mr Chauhan stopped his car, two masked men got out of the Alto with a gun and a metal bar and started walking towards him.

Seeing them approaching, Mr. Chauhan got out of his car and jumped to the side of the mountainous road, hurting himself in the process.

When Mr Chauhan managed to escape, the masked men fled to the scene.

Police said Mr. Chauhan later approached the police and lodged a complaint, which was later converted into an FIR.

However, the police did not explain in which departments the unknown persons were registered.
