10 Students End Lives By Suicide Since June 12
Haydarabad: When reopened since June 12, approximately 10 students died of suicide in government housing institutions. Most of them were under 17, living away from their families.
Two students, one from a KGBV hostel in Suriapet and the other from the BC Gurukul School in Toopranpet, only died this week. The ninth grade student in Mancherial survived his attempt to die with suicide. Previously, a 17 -year -old boy died at a social welfare young college in Shaikpet. A few families said that their children could not cope with isolation, solid routines or pension conditions.
In most of these institutions, children under the age of 10 are expected to adapt to corporate life without emotional scaffolding. “After joining, students are struggling to be in housing institutions. When they stay away from the house, parents usually visit food from outside and are not allowed, which is not allowed.
Authorized, with appropriate mental health support, most suicide can be avoided, he added. “Committee suggestions such as Neerradha Reddy and Prof. Chakrapani’s have never been implemented.”
Many hostels operate from rented buildings with weak sanitation, broken dormitories and limited toilets. A teacher from tribal welfare housing school described a typical routine. “Bathrooms and 7 are prepared with 7. However, children’s rights groups and staff said that such a training is insufficient. “These teachers are not trained to address psychological issues. Some of them are caste and humiliation students.
A teacher from a welfare school confirmed the same thing. “1:20 We are appointed as a consultant with a teacher-student ratio. But we are not psychologists. Students come from different pasts, many of them carry trauma. We cannot cope with everything.”
Tele Manas and Senior Psychologist Dr. P. Jawaharlal Nehru said, “A person who dies with suicide does not want to die. It is a scream for suicide. When children live away from their parents, they usually face separation anxiety. These children need not only textbooks, but an emotional behavior counselor, not a school teacher.”
