US embassy issues security alert for its citizens after explosion kills 8

It has been confirmed that at least eight people died and many others were injured in a massive explosion that occurred in a slow-moving car carrying a large number of people. The injured were taken to LNJP Hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, many states were alarmed.

The US embassy in New Delhi has issued a safety alert for its citizens following the deadly explosion near the Red Fort in the Indian capital on Monday. It has been confirmed that at least eight people died and many others were injured in a massive explosion that occurred in a slow-moving car carrying a large number of people. The injured were taken to LNJP Hospital for treatment.

In its alert, the US embassy said: “On November 10, 2025, a car exploded near the Lal Quila (Red Fort) metro station in central Delhi, India, with multiple casualties reported in local media. Although the cause of the explosion is currently unknown, the Government of India has placed several Indian states on high alert.”

The American embassy urged people to:
1) Avoid areas surrounding Red Fort and Chandni Chowk in Delhi.
2) Avoid crowds.
3) Monitor local media for updates.
4) Be aware of your surroundings.
5) Be careful in places frequented by tourists.

A high-intensity explosion occurred in a Hyundai i20 brand car at the traffic signal point near Red Fort Metro Station. At least eight people died and two dozen were injured in the incident. After the explosion, many vehicles in the region became unusable. The Delhi Police launched an investigation in which the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Security Guard (NSG) also participated. Many states, including Punjab, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and poll-bound Bihar, were on high alert after the incident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences for the victims and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. “We offer our condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the blast that took place in Delhi earlier this evening. I hope the injured recover soon. Those affected are being assisted by the authorities. We have reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah Ji and other officials,” PM Modi said in a post on channel X. he said.
