US Federal Agents Shoot, Wound Two People in Portland: Police
Los Angeles: U.S. federal agents shot and wounded two people in the western city of Portland, Oregon, on Thursday, local police said.
The shooting came a day after a masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis, sparking widespread anger over the increasingly militarized presence of federal agents on US streets.
In the statement made by Portland Police, it was said, “Two people are in the hospital after a shooting involving federal agents.”
The local police force, which emphasized that its officers were not involved in the attack, said they received calls for help in the afternoon.
“Officers responded and found a man and a woman with apparent gunshot wounds. Officers applied tourniquets and called emergency medical personnel,” the statement said. The statement was included.
“Patients were transported to the hospital. Their condition is unknown. Officers determined two people were injured in a shooting involving federal agents.”
According to local media reports, the attack took place near a medical facility.
Local broadcaster KATU2 said the injured people went to an apartment complex about 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) from the scene and called for help there.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that a U.S. Border Patrol agent opened fire and claimed he opened fire in self-defense while conducting what he called a “targeted vehicle stop.”
“The vehicle’s passenger and target is a Venezuelan illegal alien affiliated with the transnational Tren de Aragua prostitution ring and involved in a recent shooting in Portland,” the statement said.
“The driver of the vehicle is believed to be a member of the Venezuelan brutal gang Tren de Aragua.
“When the agents identified themselves to the occupants of the vehicle, the driver turned his vehicle into a weapon and attempted to run over the law enforcement officers.

The incident occurred just 24 hours after a masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and killed a 37-year-old mother in Minneapolis in what the White House claimed was self-defense against “domestic terrorism.”
In this case, President Donald Trump’s administration has repeatedly claimed that the woman, identified as Renee Good, intentionally drove her car toward the agency.
Portland Mayor Keith Wilson said the shooting in his city occurred as a result of a surge of heavily armed federal agents as part of Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.
“Just one day after horrific violence at the hands of federal agents in Minnesota, our community in Portland is now grappling with another deeply troubling incident.
“We cannot sit by while constitutional protections erode and blood is shed. Portland is not a ‘training ground’ for militarized agents, and the ‘full force’ threatened by the administration would have deadly consequences.”
“As mayor, I call on ICE to cease all operations in Portland until a full investigation is completed.”
Wilson said he wants local people to make their voices heard peacefully.
“I call on every Portlander to represent our values and show up calmly and decisively during this difficult time. Portland does not respond to violence with violence.”
