Students Unearth Ancient Relics Near Chittedu During Field Study

Nellore: A routine field work became a fascinating discovery for the last year students of SKR undergraduate College when they came across old remains in the village of Chittedu in the Nellore area of the SPSR.
History Instructor The students, who were directed by Govindu Surendra, examined the environment in which they watched an inscription dating back to 1678 last year.
This week, discoveries, soil containers in various ways, stone tools once used by people, and other ruins scattered in the fields appeared.
The locals revealed that the use of heavy machines for farming brings most of these objects to the surface.
Dr. Surendra stated that the site has made an important promise: “If it is systematically investigated by archaeological methods, this area can provide many historical treasures.”
The findings include a vinayaka idol, an old well, a water tank (Koneru) and Chittetamma Temple.

While the inscription emphasizes the duty of protecting these sacred structures of the villagers, the construction of the temple of Chittetamma and the adjacent temple Pond (Koneru). He says that those who protect and develop the temple will be blessed.
The inscription consists of 16 lines written in the old Telugu scenario with the elements in Sanskrit. It carries the symbols of the shell (Shankha), discus (chakra), sun and moon.
