US Scraps ‘Dropbox’ Visa Waivers: Even Kids Will Now Face In-Person Interviews – What This Means For You | World News

New Delhi: The United States will scrape the “Dropbox” program for most visa categories on September 2, 2025. Change affects renewal for H1-B, L1, F1 and O1 visas. Even children under the age of 14 will appear in front of a consulate officer at a US consulate abroad.
There are only a few exceptions. Some diplomatic and official visa categories such as A, G, NATO and Tecro are still entitled to interview waives. There are also limited provisions for some tourist visa renewals.
Full Validite B-1/B-2 or Border crossing visas can be renewed within 12 months after the end. The applicant should apply from his own country, when the visa is given, he was 18 years and older and there is no visa rejection or non -compliance.
The termination of the interview points to a major change in the US visa policy. Personally negotiations will now be standard for all non -immigrant visa renewals. Age, clean travel history or previous compliance no longer exempt applicants.
The change is already disrupting programs. In August and September, some Dropbox interview nests were canceled. Applicants are instructed to participate in the face -to -face interviews earlier than expected.
US Consulates are waiting for heavy demand for interview dates. Waiting times are likely to stretch. Travel plans may face delays. Countries that have many affected applications, including India, may experience the longest accumulated jobs.
The United States of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has also released a policy update. A visa is now accepted as “existing için for the age calculation of the Pediatric Situation Protection Law (CSPA).
Immigration defenders warn that talented immigrants from countries with the largest green card accumulation, including China and India, may face serious mishaps under new rules.
