US ski resort takes drastic measures in fight to open slopes: ‘I’ve never seen this’
A popular ski resort in California has taken drastic measures amid above-average temperatures and a lack of natural snowfall.

The region experienced above-average temperatures and no serious snowstorms. Thereupon, ski resort officials turned to snowmaking machines so that winter sports enthusiasts can have a pleasant time.

“It was just a waiting game with temperatures. We got as much snow as possible to make sure we could open safely for our guests.”
However, snowmaking machines can often require high water consumption, contributing to the depletion of nearby water resources.

Although the facility manages to keep the flow and pathways of artificial powder open to visitors, the weather is different from what the area is used to.
