US solar tracker maker GameChange to set up manufacturing plant in India, eyes doubling revenues

GameChange Solar, a global solar tracker manufacturer, plans to double its revenue from India over the next few years as strong order flow from Indian companies strengthens its pipeline, said Andrew Worden, founder and CEO of the US-based company. Mint.

The company, which has 7 GW of capacity in India, works with large corporate customers and operates a manufacturing facility in the country. Worden said the company is currently building a second facility that will increase its domestic capacity to 13GW.

Although Worden did not disclose financial details of the new facility, sources said the company spent about $100 million. It will invest ₹200 crore in its first factory at Taloja near Pune and a similar or higher amount in the second one.

GameChange Solar is among the fastest-growing solar tracker manufacturers globally, reflecting the broader shift towards energy independence and industrial decarbonisation. Its subsidiary, GameChange BOS, provides comprehensive Balance of System (BOS) and custom-built transformer solutions for renewable energy projects, battery energy storage systems (BESS), utilities, commercial and industrial (C&I) customers, and data centers.

“We’re very optimistic about the growth we’re seeing in this market. We’ll probably manufacture in India and supply other markets as well,” Worden said. Mint.

He said the expanded facility increases domestic production, reduces import dependency and strengthens India’s position as a competitive exporter of advanced transformer solutions. The facility is equipped with advanced production technologies, stringent quality tests and modern production processes to meet international standards.

According to Worden, the company’s technology enables solar trackers to withstand harsh weather conditions in markets such as India. GameChange Solar’s followers help enterprise clients from Rajasthan and Gujarat to South India increase efficiency across projects.

India’s energy demand is expected to almost triple by 2035 due to industrial expansion, increased electrification of transportation, data centers and urban consumption.
