Union Home Minister Amit Shah will unveil a compilation of allegations made by the BJP against the TMC Government in West Bengal ahead of the assembly elections in the state on Saturday, March 28, 2026, a senior party leader said.

Titled ‘Abhiyognama’ or ‘charge sheet’, the document compiles alleged incidents of corruption and mismanagement during Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s 15-year tenure.

Mr Shah will release the ‘charge sheet’ at a hotel in New Town on Saturday afternoon, March 28.

He arrived in Calcutta in the early hours of Saturday, March 28.

Mr Shah’s arrival in the city was delayed by two hours after a severe storm hit the city and its outskirts around midnight on Friday, March 27.

The BJP leader said the ‘charge sheet’ will highlight the TMC Government’s alleged “failures” in 14 sectors.

Allegations about “corruption” in the administration, “breakdown of law and order”, security concerns for women, “pervasiveness of union raj” and crises in health and education are expected to feature prominently in the ‘charge sheet’, he said.

He added that the BJP plans to use the ‘charge sheet’ to highlight the TMC’s alleged shortcomings and then present alternatives in its election manifesto or ‘Sankalp Patra’, which is likely to be released in the first week of April.

Mr. Shah has made several visits to West Bengal in the last two months to strengthen the BJP’s grassroots network and fine-tune its poll strategies; participated in organizational meetings, public rallies and outreach programs including ‘Poriborton Yatra’.

West Bengal’s 294-member Assembly will go to polls in two phases on April 23 and April 29, and counting of votes will be done on May 4.
