Newly-wed woman found dead; family alleges foul play

A 26-year-old newlywed was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her home in Bagalagunte, just a month after her wedding.

It was stated that the deceased was Aishwarya. While his family claimed that he was killed by his wife, the incident was made to look like a suicide.

Aishwarya is the elder daughter of Nagamangala residents Mamata and Krishnamurthy. She was an MBA graduate and married Likhith Singh, a resident of Bagalagunte, upon mutual consent of both the families. The wedding took place 27 days ago.

Family members of the deceased claimed that Aishwarya had complained about her husband’s harassment within a few days of the marriage. On Monday morning, both families reportedly held a reconciliation meeting to resolve the dispute. However, later in the evening, Aishwarya was allegedly attacked and subsequently found dead.

Police said Aishwarya was found dead when family members arrived. The husband reportedly told his family that he had ended his life. However, the victim’s family expressed strong suspicions and alleged murder, claiming that the husband strangled her to death and made it look like suicide.

Based on the complaint, Bagalagunte police registered a case and launched an investigation.
