Meghan Markle slammed for ‘insulting’ UK with latest move | Royal | News

Meghan Markle has been accused of “insulting” Britain with her latest move to not wear a poppy over Remembrance weekend. Prince Harry, 44, attended several events last weekend, proudly wearing a poppy over his stylish black suit on Saturday evening.
The couple, who were two of 300 guests invited to Kris Jenner’s 007-themed 70th birthday on Nov. 8, also stepped out at the 2025 Baby2Baby Gala earlier the same day. Meghan’s decision not to wear a poppy caused great reactions, and due to the reactions, sources even had to express the real reason.
To talk Daily MailSources revealed last week that Meghan was unable to visibly honor the war dead because the poppy is not widely available in the US, unlike in Commonwealth countries.
writing for Great Britain NewsRoyal expert Lee Cohen said Meghan’s decision was “humiliating” for Britain, despite sources’ interpretation.
She wrote: “Meghan’s relationship with Britain seems purely transactional when it suits her. She objects to it when it requires respect, effort or humility.”
“When it requires showing off or victimhood, he embraces it.”
Mr Cohen later added: “Meghan’s excuse for not wearing a poppy this Remembrance weekend was not only unconvincing, it was insulting.
“But in a way, the absence of the flower was appropriate. The poppy is for those with a sense of duty, gratitude and loyalty.
“Meghan has shown time and time again that she doesn’t have any of this. It’s better if she doesn’t. She doesn’t deserve it.”
Heading out with his wife, Harry proudly served in the army for a decade, making him a veteran of the British Army.
