US Top Diplomat Allison Hooker To Visit Delhi, Bengaluru From Dec 7-11 To Strengthen Strategic, Economic Ties | World News

Washington D.C. [US]: In the statement made by the US Embassy, ​​it was stated that US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker will visit New Delhi and Bengaluru between December 7-11.

Under Secretary Hooker’s visit will focus on advancing the U.S.-India strategic partnership, deepening economic and trade ties, including increasing American exports, and promoting cooperation in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and space exploration.

In New Delhi, Under Secretary Hooker will meet with senior Indian officials to discuss regional security, economic cooperation and shared priorities in the Indo-Pacific, including State Department consultations with Secretary of State Vikram Misri. He will visit the Indian Space Research Organization in Bengaluru and meet with leaders from India’s dynamic space, energy and technology sectors to foster innovation in U.S.-India research partnerships and explore opportunities for expanded collaboration, according to the statement.

According to the statement, Under Secretary Hooker’s visit marks another step towards advancing US President Donald Trump’s priorities for a strong US-India partnership and a free and open Indo-Pacific.

Meanwhile, on December 6, India and the US unequivocally condemned all forms and manifestations of terrorism, including cross-border terrorism, and renewed their commitment to strengthen multilateral cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism, including the UN, the Quadrilateral and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

The two countries held the 21st Meeting of the India-US Joint Working Group (JWG) on Counterterrorism (CT) and the 7th Determination Dialogue here on December 3.

The two sides called for additional designation of ISIS and Al Qaeda affiliates, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), and their proxies, promoters, sponsors, financiers and backers under the UN 1267 sanctions regime, ensuring that their members face a global asset freeze, travel ban and arms embargo.

India and the US strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and the heinous terrorist incident near the Red Fort in New Delhi on November 10 and emphasized that those responsible for terrorism should be held accountable.

In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that the meetings emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism, reflecting the spirit and scope of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
