King Charles has filed a lawsuit against his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, but it’s not that simple for his other siblings, a royal expert has revealed. Princess Anne and Prince Edward will also struggle with Andrew’s departure from the Royal Family and his arrest.
The King made his position clear: No one, not even a member of the Royal Family, is above the law. The former prince was arrested on his 66th birthday on suspicion of abuse of public office, amid allegations that he shared confidential information with billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein while serving as trade envoy to the UK. He was released in the evening.

King Charles dodges questions about his younger brother during royal outings; His other siblings, Princess Anne and Prince Edward, are also coping with Andrew’s exit from the Royal Family.
Two weeks before the former prince was arrested and detained at Norfolk police station, his younger brother Edward spoke out about the growing pressure on the Royal Family amid the Andrew scandal.
The Duke of Edinburgh attended the World Government Summit in Dubai in early February and was asked “how are you coping?” The question was asked. He is in the midst of the release of the Epstein files involving his brother.
And Edward said: “With the best of intentions in the world, I’m not sure the audience is probably the least interested in this.
“They all came here to listen to education, to figure out the future, but no, I think it’s very important to always remember the victims and remember who the victims are in all of this? There are a lot of victims in this.”
Although Princess Anne has not spoken publicly about her brother, it was revealed last week that the Crown Princess called Andrew on Christmas Day while she was with the Royal Family at Sandringham and the former prince was staying at Windsor.
As Edward was one of the only members of the Firm to speak out about the scandal, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: Mirror All of the late Queen Elizabeth’s children would struggle.
He said: “This must have been an incredibly difficult situation for all of Andrew’s siblings. The King has made his position clear: no one is above the law and things should be allowed to take their course.”
“He also took brutal action against his brother, stripping him of his titles, position, and home. As ruler, duty had to come before family.”

While Charles took harsh measures against his brother after the scandal, Jennie said that Anne and Edward could have been more tolerant, despite the many allegations.
“It might not seem so clear to Anne and Edward,” Jennie explained. “We must assume that Andrew protested his innocence not only publicly but also to his family.
“Also, it must be hard to look your brother in the eye and tell him you don’t believe him,” he adds.
Jennie said Anne and Edward may have been more empathetic towards Andrew when the scandal began last year, but their opinions may have changed due to his arrest and new revelations from the newly released Epstein files.
“I no longer know what kind of argument took place between Anne, Edward and Andrew,” Jennie said.
“But the constant allegations against him – not just allegations of sexual abuse but also allegations of misconduct in his role as trade ambassador – must surely have shaken their confidence in their brother.”
Despite Anne and Edward’s supposed disappointment with Andrew, Jennie said they would still be concerned about his mental health during the royal exile, with an active investigation, saying: “I’m sure on a human level they must be worried about Andrew’s health and mental health.
“But I have absolutely no doubt that their priority is their loyalty to their eldest brother, the King, and to the institution of the monarchy.
“And if that means leaving Andrew to largely fend for himself, then I think that’s what they’re going to do.”
