RMT strikes expected to bring London tube to a halt for four days | London Underground

The strikes of Tube will begin on Friday and a series of walks that are expected to close the London Underground for four days from Monday.

Londons are asked to check before the trip next week, almost no tube service is expected to work, and other transportation in capital is likely to be influenced by crowded and congestion.

Elizabeth Line, London Overground and National Railway Services, London buses will continue.

The Docklands light railway will also be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays in a separate dispute.

The RMT Union called on London to enter into disputes about more than 10,000 of 15,000 personnel of London UNDERGROUND, working hours and conditions in wage negotiations.

Another meeting between London and RMT is not expected to take place, TFL now sees the first major strike under the leadership of Eddie Dempsey, who now served as Secretary General of Mick Lynch this year.

TFL said it would serve as much service as possible. In line with the RPI inflation and other wage agreements agreed with the union in the railway industry, he said that he made a “fair, appropriate wage proposal ,, but he could not have a central union demand to reduce the working week between 35 and 32 hours.

The strike ballot, 57% of the RMT members, appears to be before the payment proposal.

Aslef, representing about two -thirds of the tube drivers, accepted the agreement and his members will not strike.

The RMT strike series starts with warehouse managers in Ruislip in Western London, but it is not expected to be affected by Sunday, where services, power and parts access controllers will cause limited deterioration.

Personnel working on trains and stations will strike on Mondays and Wednesdays and signal and service inspections will strike on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

According to TFL, the action will not mean tube trains that continue from Sunday, September 7 to 8.00 on Friday, September 12th.

RMT, TFL management “wage, fatigue management, excessive shift models and a decrease in working week with the demands of union demands seriously refused to participate”, he said.

DEMPSEY said that the tube personnel work “exhausting shift molds” that affect the health and prosperity of our members ”.

Claire Mann, the Chief Officer of TFL, said: “We call on RMT to suspend this action, to put it in our members to our fair and affordable proposal and to continue to argue with us. Our payment agreement is compatible with other offers accepted by RMT in the railway industry, so RMT is disappointed to prevent Londonists.

Uz We are open to discussions about any part of our proposal and we are determined to ensure that our colleagues are fair. We welcome all our trade unions to manage fatigue throughout the network, but a decrease in the 35 -hour working week due to the contract is neither practical nor appropriate. ”

Train operators or drivers earn an average of £ 71,000 and station personnel earn £ 44,000. It is understood that some striking service auditors earn more than £ more than £ more per year.

It is understood that RMT is looking for an extension of advantages, including intensive subsidized national railway trips.

A tube strike at the beginning of 2024 surprised after Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, by declaring Extra 30 million pounds to finance the wage increases seen as a move that sees more as a threat of industrial action this year.

Meanwhile, the Association of Train drivers announced ongoing industrial actions at the National Operator Crosscountry, including a strike on October 3. The union continues its dispute at Hull Trains on a dismissed driver after holding a protest rally in the city last week.
