Uttarakhand reserves 10% jobs for retired Agniveers in uniformed posts

The Uttarakhand government issued rules for 10% horizontal reservation for Agniveers directly recruited in government services on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Uttarakhand Personnel and Alerting Department has currently issued horizontal booking rules for retired Agniveers, which can be employed in uniform tasks of direct hiring of ‘C’ in the services under Uttarakhand province. Utilitors should be a native of Uttarakhand.

This includes important uniform tasks such as police officers (civil / provincial armed civil servants), sub -inspector, team commander PAC, firefighter, firefighter II, prisoner, assistant jailor, forest protector, forest inspector, consumer officer, executive bulb, transportation department and secretarial guards.

Horizontal booking is provided in all categories from general to SC/ST and OBC.

According to the rules reported, Agniveers will also be exempted from the physical efficiency test directly in recruitment and also relaxation at the maximum age limit.

Last month, the cabinet approved the reservation offer for Agniveers in the state government.

Concrete step

“The old Agniveers, who returned after serving the country, is the pride of the state. It is our responsibility to give them respect and employment opportunities. This decision is a concrete step to guarantee the future of retired Agniveers. Our government is trying to provide employment to old servants in every respect.

Apart from Uttarakhand, Haryana provides a 20% reservation for agniveers in police affairs. This quota was 10% earlier.

Uttar Pradesh also has a 20% horizontal booking for Agniveers in police services.

Earlier this year, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Odisha, including the other BJP, made a reservation for Agniveers.
