A major crash on the M6 ​​has brought traffic to a complete standstill on part of the main motorway and motorists have been warned they will face serious delays. Three of four northbound lanes are closed at Junction 21 of the M6 ​​in Cheshire following a collision.

Motorway CCTV footage shows heavy traffic building northbound on the Thelwall Viaduct approaching rush hour. North West National Highways wrote on Traffic data service Inrix wrote: “Three lanes of traffic have been closed and queued due to the crash on the M6 ​​Thelwall Viaduct Northbound between J20 M56 J9 (Lymm Junction) and J21 A57 Manchester Road (Woolston).”
