Varun Beverages’s subsidiary Bevco to acquire South African firm Crickley Dairy for ₹131.47 crore

Varun Beverages said on Tuesday that its South African subsidiary Bevco will acquire Crickley Dairy Proprietary. ₹131.47 crore.
In a regulatory filing filed by Varun Beverages Ltd (VBL), The Beverage Company Proprietary Ltd (Bevco), “an agreement dated 17 March 2026 was signed for the acquisition of 100 per cent equity interest in Crickley Dairy Proprietary Ltd, located in South Africa,” it said.
The company will purchase it from Clark Holdings Proprietary Ltd, the parent company of Crickley Dairy Proprietary.
This acquisition is in line with the company’s strategy to expand its product portfolio into new categories such as value-added dairy products and juice-based beverages.
However, VBL said the deal would be subject to regulatory and other approvals, including from the South African Competition Commissions.
In early December, Varun Beverages, PepsiCo’s largest franchise bottler, announced that it would fully acquire South Africa-based firm Twizza through Bevco.
In March 2024, VBL acquired The Beverage Company in South Africa together with its wholly owned subsidiaries BevCo.
This acquisition allowed the company to strengthen its presence in franchise territories in South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini, as well as distribution rights in Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and Madagascar.
