Amitabh Bachchan celebrated the first weekend collection of his grandson Agastya Nanda’s debut theater play Ikkis and praised his portrayal of war hero Arun Khetrapal.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan expressed his pride for his grandson Agastya Nanda as his latest film Ikkis made a strong opening at the box office in early 2026. He went to X and released the collection shared by the producers; This shows that Ikkis opened 2026 on a solid note at the domestic box office, collecting Rs 22.05 crore in the first four days of release. Expressing his excitement, he wrote in the caption, “YO.. Agastya.. good luck..”

The film recorded a strong opening and earned Rs 7.28 Crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 4.02 Crore on Day 2. It gained momentum over the weekend with collections of Rs 5.05 Million on Day 3 and Rs 5.70 Million on Day 4, taking India’s total net box office to Rs 22.05 Million.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis is a war biopic based on Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest person to receive the Param Vir Chakra. The film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Suhasini Mulay, Sikander Kher and Rahul Dev. Released on January 1, 2026.

Big B, who recently attended the previous screening of his upcoming war biopic, took to his blog and wrote a heartfelt note. Revisiting some rare memories from the time when Agastya was born and watching him on the big screen, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “Emotions are flowing. So is it tonight when you witness the grandson do well in IKKIS..
