Elon Musk had more extensive ties to Epstein than previously known, emails show | Elon Musk

Elon Musk had more extensive and friendly communications with financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein than previously known, according to documents released Friday by the Justice Department. Emails in the files appear to show the two messaging each other cordially to make plans for Musk to visit Epstein’s island.

The documents also include Musk and Epstein emailing in December 2013 to determine when Musk should travel to Little St James.

“I’ll be in the BVI/St Bart region over the holidays. Is there a good time to visit?” Musk states on December 13.

Epstein replies, “any day from 1 to 8. Play by ear if you want. There’s always room for you.”

Musk then sends several emails outlining his schedule, and the two decide on January 2 as the visit date. The email exchange ends with Epstein telling Musk he should have stayed in New York and expressing his regrets for not being able to meet.

“Bad news. Unfortunately my schedule will keep me in New York. I was really looking forward to finally spending some time together with just fun on the agenda. So I’m very disappointed. I hope we can plan another time in the near future,” Epstein wrote.

Musk has harshly criticized people associated with Epstein, but newly released emails appear to contradict his long-standing denial of any ties. CEO of Tesla said In 2019, Vanity Fair claimed that Epstein was “clearly a creep” and that Epstein “repeatedly tried to persuade me to visit his island, but I refused.” The emails between the two moguls came years after Epstein was convicted of soliciting a minor for prostitution in Florida in 2008. Authorities later arrested Epstein on federal sex trafficking charges in 2019.

A separate email in the documents shows Epstein’s longtime assistant Lesley Groff making plans for Epstein to have lunch at SpaceX in 2013, saying: “Elon Musk appreciates the invitation to the Ranch but has commitments… Lunch at Space X on Monday, February 25 at 1pm is confirmed.” It’s unclear whether the luncheon took place or whether Musk attended. Another set of correspondence from March 2013 involves Epstein and Musk exchanging emails after Epstein sent him congratulations the day after the launch of a SpaceX rocket.

A representative for Musk and artificial intelligence company xAI did not immediately return a request for comment.

The newly released emails between Musk and Epstein, who was found dead in his prison cell in 2019 and has been the subject of speculation for years about his connections to some of the world’s most powerful people, are part of a tranche of 3 million documents the justice department made public on Friday.

Musk has faced pressure in the past to address any possible links to Epstein, including having the Justice Department release documents related to the investigation that implicates him. House Democrats released a copy of Epstein’s daily schedule last year; this copy had a calendar entry from 2014: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island on December 6 (is this still happening?)”. No other information was included, and Musk denied making plans for the visit in a post on X.

“This is false,” he wrote in response to a post mentioning the allegations.

Musk also denied knowing Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime accomplice. claims She said the widely circulated photo of the two of them together at an event was due to him “photobombing” her at the Vanity Fair party. Musk stated He said he visited Epstein’s Manhattan apartment for “about 30 minutes” as part of research for a book written by his ex-wife, Talulah Riley, but did not specify an exact date.

Although Musk has denied having a personal connection to Epstein, he has used the sex offender’s name to attack others. During his public dispute with Donald Trump last year, he claimed the president’s name was in the Epstein files. Later It turned out that he deleted his posts X accuses Trump of having ties to Epstein. Musk also insult In May, technology mogul Bill Gates reacted harshly over the Microsoft founder’s relationship with Epstein, after Gates criticized him for cuts in humanitarian aid.

“Who thinks Bill Gates would comment on the welfare of children if he frequented Jeffrey Epstein?” Musk said:
