Sarah Ferguson ‘the first to celebrate’ Jeffrey Epstein’s release from prison | Royal | News

Leaked emails suggest Sarah Ferguson was the “first person to celebrate” pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s release from prison. In an email sent by the disgraced financier to his UK-based lawyer Paul Tweed in April 2011, Epstein claims the then-Duchess was so desperate to get close to him that she “was the first person to celebrate” his release from prison “with her two daughters”.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were 20 and 19 years old at the timethe same age as many of Epstein’s victims, respectively. The emails are part of a raft of documents currently being reviewed by the US Congress. They show the state of the pair’s relationship, with allegations that Epstein regularly supported Prince Andrew’s ex-wife financially.

In one email, “Fergie” reportedly begged to borrow $50,000 to $100,000 to help with “small bills”, while in another she asked for £15,000 to pay off a former employee.

The email allegedly shows Epstein expressing anger at Tweed for giving a newspaper interview apologizing for Ferguson’s “horrible, terrible error of judgment” in accepting the £15,000.

Epstein allegedly demanded that Fergie write a public apology letter over the interview and threatened to sue Fergie if she did not do so.

He wrote that he “needed to point out positively that he had been misquoted,” according to the email obtained by the Mail on Sunday.

She added: “(Ms Ferguson) got an apartment in New York. She was the first person to celebrate my release with her two daughters.

“He visited me with (a) police officer sitting at my front desk. He asked for help with charities.”

Ms Ferguson is understood to have denied the allegation that she visited Epstein with her daughters.

But the emails show the former Duchess addressed her comments about Epstein in the newspaper interview and, according to reports, backtracked on her previous statements.

He wrote: “Dear Jeffrey, I wanted you to know for certain that much of what has been attributed to me about you in the press is either a complete malicious fabrication or gross exaggeration…

“There has never been an allegation of pedophilia… You have been a loyal friend of my family for many years.”

Last month, Sarah was rejected by multiple charities after it emerged that she had written to sex offender Epstein, calling him a “great friend” despite publicly disavowing him in the media.

This comes after Sarah lost her title to Sarah, Duchess of York, in a royal divorce following her ex-husband’s decision to renounce his title as Duke of York.

The Daily Express has contacted Ms Ferguson’s representatives for comment.
