Cold case rapist and killer, 92, jailed for life

Ryland Headley was 34 years old when Easton drowned Dul Louisa Dunne at his home in Easton, Easton on June 28, 1967.
Bristol Crown Court was found by a neighbor lying on the floor of the living room. A pathologist confirmed that he had died of asphaly due to drowning and pressure on his mouth.
Judge Mr. Justice Sweeting said the attack was “ruthless and ruthless” and did not show “regret” for Suffolk’s Headley’s actions of Ipswich.
Mrs. Dunne lived alone during her death.
Mr. Sweeting said he plans to rape Mrs. Dunne when she entered the court’s house and attacked him “mercilessly”.

“Mrs. Dunne was vulnerable, a little old woman who lived alone. You acted as a tool to end her.”
“The violation of his house, body and ultimately his life was a cruel and cruel movement by an immoral man.
“You may not have aimed to kill, but you raped her and you ruthlessly attacked her,” he added.
GivenMs. Dunne’s grandson Mary Dainton went to the witness box to explain the victim effect. He talked about the “comprehensive” destruction of Headley’s actions.
He said, “Talking for people who are no longer here” fell to him.
Now 78 -year -old Dinton was 20 years old when Ms. Dunne was killed.
He told the court that when they learned the conditions of his death, he was “withdrawn” from his family.
‘It makes me deeply upset me’
Dainton said: “I struggled in the way I didn’t guess emotionally.
“There is a rape and a stigmatizing of murder.
“I reversed my life. I’m sorry and I feel very tired, which impressed the relationships with me.
He continued: “Louisa’yı and all the people who know and love to see the justice is not here is deeply upset.”
Mr. Sweeting participated in the hard work of the Crown Prosecutor’s Office, police and judicial scientists.
Headley, who rejected rape and murder, will be sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in prison.
After being convicted, Mr. Sweeting said to him: “You will never be released. You will die in prison.”
