Villagers Uphold Ancient Varadha Pasham Ritual in Jagtial

Karimnagar: In a strong demonstration of respect for social beliefs and centuries of traditions, the peasants of the Beerpur latch in the Jagtial region continue to maintain a unique and sacred tradition.

Once a year, they come together to make a special ritual known as Varadha Pasham, which is believed to soothe Sri Ugra Narasimha Swamy and provide health, prosperity and plenty of harvests for the next year. This annual activity is not only a prayer, but a deep proof of the rooted beliefs conveyed throughout generations.

The Temple of Sri Ugra Narasimha Swamy, who is believed to have ruled himself, draws dedicated not only from nearby villages, but also from all over the Jagtial region, along with the surrounding hills. Those who undertake a challenging climb are rewarded both with a magnificent view of nature and the Darshan of the President God.

The ceremony was held in Pedda Gutta, a mountain in a natural valley between the two hills. The journey to the site requires 3 km from the dense forest land.

During this challenging climb, the peasants carry raw materials for rice, jagger, milk, coconut and other puja materials. Although there is no appropriate route, their determination is maintained with faith. After reaching the temple, they immediately start the center of the ritual.

They cook the ingredients to prepare Payasam with a sweet rice dish. This proposal is first presented to God and then poured into a certain rock on the mountain with a unique tradition. The remaining Payasam is distributed as a sacred prasadam among the dedicated ones and strengthens his common ties and common commitment.

Speaking with Deccan Chronicle, the local peasant Sudhakar described Trek as a spiritual and visual rewarding experience. He said that the road is surrounded by live greenery, fresh breezes and thick vegetation adhering to the slopes. Remnable rocks and scattered trees create a paintoresque scene that calms the mind.

The temple’s Pujari Madhu Kumaracharyulu said that Varadha Pasham to Deccan Chronicle was an old tradition that was only observed once a year at the end of my Sravana table. For centuries, their ancestors followed this ritual Sri Ugra Narasimha Swamy with the belief that it brought health, prosperity and abundant products.

After completing the ritual in Gutta in Pedda, they offer prayers in the temple in Chinna Gutta, which is currently under renovation, and confirms their commitment to a tradition that blends spiritual respect with hope for a common unity and prosperous future.
