Virgin Australia wins approval to carry pets on flights

A Australian flight will first be a little fur with your flight to bring a small pet dog or cat to the Virgin Australian interior flights.
A previous regulatory gap, which classifies the aircraft as a restaurant, forbade the service of food and beverage when domestic cats and dogs were found in the cabin.
However, last month, food standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) approved Virgin’s change to allow pets.
“We evaluated the risks of microbiological food safety risks and found that the presence of domestic cats and dogs in flight cabins with appropriate risk management controls offers a low risk for passengers,” he said.
“The change in the code provides the authority to allow domestic cats and dogs in the aircraft cabinets, provided that all related food safety requirements are met in Australia.”
The service is expected to be released by the end of this year. Two rows will be determined on certain flights for flyers traveling with pets.
It will have to fit into a domestic animal carrier that weighs with pets in pets less than 8 kg and under the front of the aircraft seat.
A virgin spokesman said that they were excited to reach an important milestone ”on his journey to present a pet in the cabin service.

“Now, with this confirmation, we are one step closer to meeting pets in Virgin Australian flights, and we are looking forward to sharing more details with travelers about our trial flights in the coming months.”
In Australia, large carriers did not allow them to spend their free time with pets before.
Travelers will have to reserve the pet trip through Virgin’s guest contact center and the animals will have to stay in their carriers during the flight time.
Despite the change, the final authority to allow animals on a particular flight remains with the pilot’s command.
According to the Civil Aviation Security Authority (CASA), the pilots are responsible for the safety of the entire ship and hold a comprehensive authority on passengers and cargo.
The uncertainty in the rules effectively provides the authority to reject domestic animals according to any situation, including the ability to reject the transport of animals in exceptional cases where safety or flight operations may be in danger.
