Heartbreaking details as man loses wife to scrambler ‘scourge’ in accident | UK | News

A broken man of his heart shared his dog after hitting his dogs in an illegal mixer while walking his dogs in a forest park as part of a new campaign to eliminate illegal ‘trouble’.

In July 2016, when Seamus Armstrong heard that his name was called wildly by the neighbors opposite the street, he had a day in his backyard. His wife Valerie left to walk the dogs before the family went to dinner, and Seamus’s neighbors called him to hurry to Colin Glen Forest Park.

After reaching the stage at West Belfast, he witnessed that they were trying to save his wife before he was taken to hospital. Tragically, despite the best efforts of the surgeons, Valerie could not be saved, and Seamus faced a heartbreaking mission to tell his children that their mother would not come home.

Seamus remembered: “It was one of my days from work, I was in the backyard looking at the children. It was quite sunny and warm and filled the pee swimming pool and held a few of the children around him and mixed in the pool.

Seamus then detailed his last moments with his wife: “Valerie was around 16.00 at work and from home in the morning shift. I was out behind, Valerie came home and decided not to bring together a few pieces, then I decided to take the dog for a walk. When I said I was a glass for DLOWN, I will do DLOWN and Down Down Down Down Down Down Down Down Down Down Down

“I said okay, I will take the children out of the pool and I will prepare them when you come back. In half an hour, I heard that the neighbors in front of the street screamed and looked over the fence and said you had to go into the forest of Seamus, Valerie.

“I could see two or three, in fact, four medical officers worked on him.”

He continued: “The surgeons came and sat me up, and I said that the injuries of Mr. Armstrong’s wife was the terminal, there is nothing to save him. We have three different surgeons, and in previous cases I saw injuries of this size and no one returns from him.

“I had to go home the next day and tell our children that the Mumya had not returned from the hospital.

Seamus’ testimony is part of a new video aiming to fight the use of illegal Scramblers in Belfast, created by members of the Community Representatives, Youth Services and Schools. Belfast live.

It is a part of Op Chicquer, which was initiated by the Police Team, so far, not only in Western Belfast, but also a decrease in a decrease in scrambler with a decrease of 29.8 percent in the events seen between 2023/2024 and 2024/2025.

PSNI says Op Chicquer shows the effectiveness of community participation and the effectiveness of youth education by providing safe mixing courses.

It is believed that 70 percent of illegal scrambler criminals are 12-18 years old.

Colin Glen NPT Officer Constable William Kingsberry said: “The video summarizes the intense work we have carried out under Op Chicquer in the last two years to address illegal streets in West Belfast and to provide safe alternatives.”

Annie Armstrong, a Colin Mahalle Partnership, interprets: “Colin Mahalle Partnership emphasizes the dangers of other motor vehicles that have not trained the protective equipment, insured or wearing, and other motor vehicles.

He continued: “We are really worried that more members of our community may be the victim of this illegal activity. If an innocent person in our community dies due to this dangerous activity or seriously injured, we appeal to parents and undeniable results.”

Last summer, the team carried out a nine-week program with the Cornerstone Off-Road Motorcycle Academy to educate young people on road safety.

They contacted the territorial owners affected by the event, developed a criminal justice strategy and a social media campaign that led to the printing and signs of brochures/posters.

Local schools, youth centers, businesses and community groups – including Colin Neighborhood Partnership – after consultation and partnership, a few thousand brochures were distributed locally and posters and signs were displayed in important places along the Colin region.

West Belfast Sinn Fein Deputy Paul Maskey said that parents should take responsibility to help end the illegal use of illegal scrams.

After the launch of the new security video: “This shows the consequences of use of illegal scrams.

He continued: “This is a problem in our community, a trouble on our roads and a trouble for pedestrians and a problem that is not isolated to Western Belfast.”
