WA Health issues fresh warning after two measles cases visited Perth and Pilbara including Crown Casino
After traveling on flights between Wa Health, Perth and Pilbara, he released a new warning after two locally acquired measles.
It brings WA’s total case burden to 23 for the year.
Infectious people traveled between Perth, Port Hedland and Newman, and visited several places, including Crown Casino and Perth Airport between 23 June and 8 July.
The warning comes after publishing a notification, Believing that WA health authorities had not identified measles on Friday.
Paul Armstrong, Director of Infectious Diseases Control, said, “The last case did not have an inter -state or overseas travel history or known patient contacts in the near future, which shows that there were cases of measles that have not been identified in WA.
“Measles can spread very quickly and everyone who is not immune is at the risk of developing the disease if exposed.”
Measles is a very infectious virus that can spread through droplets in the air and can develop 10 days after exposure.
Symptoms contain fever, fatigue, cough, nose and painful eyes, which includes rash without a red storm after three or four days.
The rash usually begins on its face and spreads to the rest of the body.
Anyone who is worried about them or their loved ones should be measles.
They should call to GP or emergency services to prevent the chance to spread infection to others.
Anyone who is not donated and listed during the dates and hours of exposure should follow the symptoms seven to 18 days after joining that place.
People who have two doses of measles vaccination and born before 1966 are considered immune to measles.
