El Paso police bodycam video shows fatal I-10 arrest

The newly released El Paso Police Body Camera video shows a rapidly intensified struggle that resulted in the death of a man in the Interstate 10.

According to the EPPD video of the 30 -year -old Xavier Guadalupe Hernandez, the EPPD video of the incident on Monday, August 18th, threatens to jump over the output over the Yarbrough Drive overpass when an officer arrives at the east side on July 13th.

Hernandez’s death was accepted as a murder by the medical practice of El Paso district. A autopsy report said that his death was caused by cocaine toxicity asphyxia and “an important contribution” because of the breast stuck during the law enforcement officers.

Three separate investigations by the People’s Unit of El Paso Police Department, Interior and Texas Rangers of Texas Rangers, Police Spokesman SGT. Robert Gomez said on Monday in an 11 -minute EPPD video, including body camera video.

Gomez, in the video description, “the civil servant’s actions are consistent with the law and department policy, all the facts will not be known until the known and the investigation is completed.” He said.

The names of the relevant officers were not announced.

The body camera video starts at 10:13 in the morning, shows a police officer who goes to the media, and then sees Hernandez on the other side of the four highway traffic strings on the edge of the overpass.

Hernandez wears a sweaty blue t -shirt and gray shorts. No shoes, just black socks and it looks anxious.

“Someone calls 911, please,” the officer shouts while walking towards him. According to the video, the officer tells him that his help is here.

‘Officer, what is your badge number?’

The video shows that the officer tells Hernandez to sit, but when the officer tries to catch Hernandez from his arms and Hernandez is withdrawn.

“Officer, what is your badge number?” Hernandez starts shouting many times.

“(Expletive) download or I’ll review you,” he shouts, Hernandez on your knees, pulling his hands on the head of the yellow taster draws the electric stunning gun.

Officer orders Hernandez to reach out. While shouting Hernandez, Taser repeatedly “Officer, what is your badge number?”

Body Camera Time 10:15:51: A man with a black t -shirt and a black baseball hat runs on his back to help Hernandez in wrestling, who refuses to jam and rol in his stomach. “Round (Expletive),” by order of civil servant.

“Officer, what is your badge number?” Hernandez continues to be repeated between the screams before the officer, and the other two men can fix it in asphalt. The officer never tells Hernandez about his badge number.

In the end, other police officers come and are kept on the shoulder of the Hernandez highway.

H Hernandez says that police officers are being held to discuss receiving chains to carry him in an ambulance. “Calm down,” one says to Hernandez, who is silent.

Body Camera Time 10:27:23: A police sergeant holds Hernandez with another officer in his legs. Hernandez, until then, handcuffed behind.

After realizing that Hernandez did not breathe and toppled, an officer said, “He doesn’t breathe, my man,” he said. A police officer starts CPR and then continues by a medical officer at the scene.

Hernandez was taken to the nearby del left medical center, where he was pronounced dead.
