Moment three-man knife fight breaks out on Tube platform in front of horrified passengers

The terrifying moments of a three-person knife fight on the subway platform were captured on camera by a terrified passenger.

The horrific attack took place at Colliers Wood Tube station in south London at around 10.30am on Wednesday, December 17 last week.

One of the men is seen lying on the platform while the other two lean on him, violently slam his body into the ground and kick his victim in the head four times.

Police confirmed knives were involved in the shocking fight and said they were investigating the fight and arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon.

The violence comes after videos of cracked pipes being burned in tube carriages and brawls alongside babies in tube stations emerged amid an outbreak of disorder in London’s transport system this year.

In April, photos of a disheveled-looking man burning a metal pipe inside a subway car surfaced online.

He had a ‘gloomy grin’ on his face, coughing up phlegm into his mouth and spitting it on the ground, as the angry passengers stood up and walked away.

In July, video emerged showing a fight on the packed stairs of a London Underground station, in which a screaming little boy fell to the ground in the melee.

A fight broke out between a group of men at the entrance to Highbury and Islington Station during rush hour as screaming members of the public tried to intervene as the group threw a man down the stairs.

The incidents have left many fearful of using public transport in the capital, where violent crime rates have risen steadily over the past nine years.

Footage of this latest altercation shows a teenager in a black hoodie kicking his victim in the head four times, while a third in a gray tracksuit stands over his limp body.

A terrified passenger on the tube filmed the brutal scenes on his mobile phone.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: ‘Officers attended Colliers Wood Tube station at 10.30am on December 17 following reports of a knife fight between three young men.

The chaos caught on camera in subways and subway stations this year has left many angry at rising crime rates and frustrated with authorities.

The subway’s crime epidemic was laid bare in April, when commuters were forced to watch their daily drunkenness as they brazenly smoked crack cocaine and marijuana.

After photos emerged of a man lighting what appeared to be a crack (cocaine) pipe inside a Tube carriage, the Shadow Transport Secretary said the shocking images would ‘concern’ Sir Sadiq Khan, who has seen violent crime rates rise steadily during his nine-year tenure as Mayor of London.

Given that Transport for London staff are powerless to take action, passengers are shamelessly using the Tube as makeshift drug dens across the network.

Passengers told the Daily Mail they had to deal with the smell of marijuana at least twice a week on their packed 50-minute daily journeys on the Elizabeth, Circle and District Lines.

A woman told how she was horrified as she sat on the tube next to a man who smoked the Class A drug crack cocaine in front of pregnant women.

They reported the drug use via British Transport Police’s messaging service on the District Line, but said they received no response, although the man happily got out of the car in Victoria.

Sir Sadiq insisted LBC while TfL staff could have intervened, adding that 500 enforcement officers worked at the network.

‘This should not have happened if it had been reported; “When good citizens and good Samaritans report incidents, we will ensure action is taken,” he said.

Other Tube users posted videos and images of people using drugs on social media platforms.

Footage titled ‘London’s Best on the Tube’, published on Reddit in September last year, showed a man with matted hair smoking a cigarette.

This led to people sharing their experiences of witnessing drug use on the subway; one person said it was like being in New York.

Footage of a similar fight on the stairs of a subway station this summer also put many people in danger.

A fight between a group of men at Highbury and Islington Stations in July forced screaming members of the public to intervene.

The images captured the chaos as follows: A smartly dressed man kicked the head of another in a gray tracksuit; Another threw his backpack into the packed crowd.

A young child cries on the ground as chaos ensues, with commuters trying to break up the fight and help a mother and her baby in a stroller move out of the way.

Then another of the men swung his legs up and kicked two men, before being pulled down by three men and laid back on the ground.

The man in the suit continued to kick him repeatedly before the attacked man fell backwards on the stairs.

He was then seen trying to go up the stairs while others continued to punch him.

A woman tried to calm the situation but quickly walked away after being almost punched, while another woman in a yellow dress was seen grabbing the arm of one of the reported attackers.
