‘Walk of Hope’ on Sunday to create awareness on breast cancer

World Breast Cancer Awareness Day will be celebrated in the city with a ‘Walk of Hope’ at Manaveeyam Veedhi on Sunday at 17:00.

The event will be organized by Asraya, a voluntary women’s organization that has been working at the Regional Cancer Center (RCC) to provide support to cancer patients and their families for 30 years.

The program will be officially opened by Paul Augustine, chief of the RCC Division of Surgical Oncology.

The ‘Walk of Hope’ will be flagged off by Kusumakumari, former additional director of RCC. Community medicine professor Reji Jose will speak.

The event will be attended by volunteers, members of the survival support group led by Santha Jose, president of Asraya, and the public.
