India will face arch-rivals Pakistan twice on the same date in a rare double header, with a match scheduled in Bangkok ahead of the eagerly awaited T20 World Cup clash. Here’s everything you need to know about fixtures, context and importance.

After a two-month gap without any matches in men’s and women’s cricket, the fierce rivalry between India and Pakistan will reignite on February 15 with matches in two different countries on the same day. While the senior men’s team will face each other in a thrilling T20 World Cup match in Colombo, the Asian Cricket Council has announced that a match between the ‘A’ women’s teams of both countries will be held in Bangkok on the same day.

On Monday, January 19, Asian cricket governing body announced the schedule for the Rising Stars Asian Women’s Cup. This marks the second year of the tournament, previously known as the Emerging Women’s Asian Cup. The 2026 edition is scheduled to be held in Thailand from 13 to 22 February, with all matches to be played in Bangkok. In the competition, ‘A’ teams from all full member countries will compete against senior teams from partner countries in a T20 format.

Similar to the recently concluded Men’s Asian Cup, Men’s Asian Cup Rising Stars and Men’s U19 Asian Cup, India-A and Pakistan-A were in the same group. While they will be in Group A along with UAE and Nepal, Group B will include Bangladesh-A and Sri Lanka-A along with Malaysia and Thailand.

Both India-A and Pakistan-A will begin their campaigns on February 13 against Nepal and UAE respectively. The two teams will face each other on February 15 with the match starting at 14:00 local time (12:30 IST). There will be no conflict with the men’s T20 World Cup match, which is scheduled to start at 7 pm (IST) on the same day.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for February 20, with the final match taking place two days later.

Additionally, the senior women’s team will also be in action on February 15 and are scheduled to play the first ODI of their multi-format tour of Australia in Sydney.
