Walmart bets on AI ‘super agents’ to boost e-commerce growth

Story: Walmart deepens to AI, which reveals four new “super agents” on Thursday, aiming to improve shopping experience and compete with rival retailers.

Super agents supported by Agent AI, who need minimum human intervention, will serve as primary entry points for each AI interaction with Walmart shoppers, store employees, suppliers and sellers and software developers.

New agents will replace a few AI vehicles and hopes to shop more than Amazon, which has its own AI -supported vehicles.

Sparky, one of Walmart’s agents, is already available as a Gen-AI tool in its application, and currently helps customers to suggestions such as athletic clothing or right ink for a printer.

In the form of “Super Agent”, Walmart says Sparky can plan themed parties and offer product recipes by looking at the content of the refrigerator that shops through a computer vision.

Another super agent, Marty is developed for sellers, suppliers and advertisers to facilitate recruitment process, manage orders and create advertising campaigns.

Walmart refused to say whether super agents will replace human business.
