Wanning Sun on submarine pact

Australians support the AUKUS nuclear submarine deal despite critics’ warnings about its high price tag and concerns about US stability, a new poll has found. The consistent message from politicians and some sections of the media is that China’s “threat” to national security makes the deal necessary. So is this threat real?
