War on drugs sees US military strike narco-terrorists again in Eastern Pacific

Joint Task Force Southern Spear forces hit two narco-terrorist ships operating along a major drug corridor in the Eastern Pacific on Thursday, killing five militants with no U.S. casualties.

U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) released a video on the X showing the opening attack and its aftermath, with the targeted boat engulfed in flames.

“On December 18, with the following instruction [Secretary of War] Pete Hegseth of Joint Task Force Southern Lance conducted a deadly kinetic attack on two vessels operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in international waters. Intelligence confirmed that the ships were transiting known drug smuggling routes in the Eastern Pacific and engaging in drug smuggling operations.

SOUTHCOM said, “During these actions, a total of five male narco-terrorists were killed, three on the first ship and two on the second ship.” he added. “No US military forces were harmed.”

Joint Task Force Southern Spear was established to help combine Navy, Coast Guard, intelligence and special operations assets to rapidly strike time-sensitive targets at sea.

Pentagon It did not disclose the identities of the four narco-terrorists killed or the terrorist organization involved.

To dismantle narco-terrorist networks, the United States has launched dozens of attacks on ships suspected of drug smuggling in the Eastern Pacific and Caribbean and targeted groups such as Tren de Aragua in Venezuela and Ejército de Liberación Nacional in Colombia.

The campaign began with an attack on September 2 in which 11 alleged Tren de Aragua members were killed, and was followed by additional operations along known smuggling routes that reportedly eliminated dozens more.

US forces reportedly hit various types of ships, including submarines, fishing boats, and high-speed vessels.

Earlier this month, the Trump administration launched its “Fentanyl-Free America” ​​plan, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) reported that attacks on suspected drug ships in the Caribbean were helping stem the flow of illegal drugs into the United States.
