Warden asking for public’s help after dog abandoned

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Mahoning County Dog Warden is asking the public for help identifying the owner of a dog after what he calls “one of the worst cases of neglect he has ever seen.”

According to a post on the manager’s Facebook page, the manager received a call from Every Dog Matters Rescue Tuesday morning saying that when someone arrived they found a female French bulldog “horribly injured” behind their building at 6329 Market Street in Boardman.

The dog was urgently taken to the veterinarian. He was likely hit by a car weeks ago and his leg became so severely infected that he “literally died,” the post said.

“The infection had spread to the abdominal cavity and was so severe that it had to be released,” the post said.

security footage The post stated that the dog was abandoned in the freezing cold around 10.30pm on Monday evening and lay on nothing but pee pads for more than 10 hours.

A police report has been lodged but the dog warden is appealing for anyone with information about the dog or its owner to get in touch. Ohio Animal Aid.
