US tech uses old script to bash Australia’s media regulation plan

Following the Labor government’s announcement of draft news bargaining promotion legislation in April. Meta and Google immediately blasted the offer as an unfair “tax” imposed on a select number of US tech giants.
Now, as the consultation period on the draft bill draws to a close, two tech lobby groups have submitted their own complaints. In a submission last week, lobby group the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) repeated many of the criticisms it made in a previous round of consultations in December.
