Watch Fed Chair Jerome Powell testify live before Senate banking panel

Federal Reserve President Jerome Powell returned to Capitol Hill on Wednesday, and this time he speaks with the Senate Banking Committee as part of the six -month monetary policy statement.
In his statements on Tuesday before the Parliamentary Financial Services Committee, the Central Bank leader claimed that the FED was a good position to wait on the interest policy while watching the impact of tariffs on inflation.
If tasks have a longer effect on prices, Powell said the Fed would be more hesitant to further reduce interest rates. However, if the rise was a one -time move, it would be comfortable to relax later in the year, but it did not specify a meeting for when the decrease could be.
Powell also claimed that President Donald Trump’s repeated demands for ratio deductions had no effect on the FED policy.
