Sainsbury’s makes major change to Nectar points | UK | News

A major new change to Sainsbury’s customer experience has now been launched. Sainsbury’s loyalty program is now on Deliveroo, meaning members can now collect points when shopping at the grocery giant via the app.
Customers will now be able to enter the card number registered to their Nectar account at checkout and collect points when ordering through participating Sainsbury’s stores. The grocery store reported. One Nectar point will be earned for every £1 spent on eligible supermarket items purchased via Deliveroo.
Suzy McClintock, Deliveroo’s vice president of new verticals, said: “This integration is a huge win for our customers, who can now earn points on grocery orders at Sainsbury’s, making Deliveroo the go-to place for on-demand convenience and loyalty.
“We are delighted to welcome Nectar, one of the UK’s most valuable and far-reaching loyalty programmes, to Deliveroo.”
Deliveroo announced that it is the first delivery platform to support Nectar, which has a membership base of approximately 24 million and over 500 partners. From today shoppers can start collecting their points using the Deliveroo app or website.
In July, Morrisons announced the introduction of More Card prices for Deliveroo customers, following the launch of the loyalty scheme on the delivery app earlier in the year.
B&Q has also recently expanded its partnership with the delivery service and will now trial its service beyond London and Brighton, bringing it to a further 29 major cities and towns in the UK.
