Shoppers are being urged to plan ahead this festive season as Britain’s fourth largest supermarket confirmed it will close all 1,060 of its stores for three consecutive days over Christmas. Aldi has published its full trading schedule for Christmas 2025, outlining when customers can stock up ahead of the holiday break. Shops will operate standard opening hours until Tuesday, December 23, with each branch closing its doors at 6pm, before closing earlier than usual on Christmas Eve.

The supermarket will close completely on Christmas Day and Boxing Day before stores reopen at 8am on Saturday, December 27. Aldi will close at 6pm on New Year’s Eve and continue trading as normal in the final days of the year until remaining closed on New Year’s Day.

Shoppers are advised to double-check their local branch’s opening hours as hours may vary slightly by location.
