BBC Scotland HQ evacuated after fire breaks out

The BBC’s Scottish headquarters in Glasgow was evacuated following a fire.
The incident is understood to have occurred in a rooftop-level factory room on the fifth floor of the Pacific Quay building.
All staff left the building on the banks of the River Clyde when a fire alarm went off at around 6:30am.
BBC Radio Scotland Breakfast was taken off the air, switching to pre-recorded music and breakfast television news bulletins from Scotland were suspended.
Firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes of the alarm, and at least seven fire engines were sent to the scene.

It is understood the fire was discovered by a security guard who raised the alarm.
A flash of orange flame could be seen from windows to the right of the illuminated BBC Scotland sign on the south side of the building.
A BBC Scotland spokesperson said: “We are grateful to the emergency services for their rapid response on the ground.
“We are working hard to ensure the safety of all our colleagues and will bring our regular services back on air as soon as possible.”
