Israel-US preparing to resume hostilities with Iran

The report, based on government sources, states that Israel is waiting for US President Donald Trump’s decision.

The report stated that there are increasing signs that Trump has concluded that Tehran is not ready to accept conditions to end the war.

Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the United States and Israel were intensively preparing for the resumption of hostilities.

On Friday, the New York Times reported that the Pentagon was preparing to restart the war due to the failure to achieve Washington’s original goals, especially Tehran’s nuclear program.

According to the Times report, based on two officials from the Middle East, the USA and Israel were making intensive preparations in case the attacks against Iran would resume as of next week.

Israel’s N12 television broadcaster reported that it was thought likely that Trump would gather advisers to make a decision on resuming hostilities shortly after returning from China.

N12 said that the Israeli government believes that a decision on a military operation that will last “days or weeks” could be taken “very soon.”

According to Yedioth Ahronoth, Trump is not thought to be planning a large-scale war aimed at overthrowing the Iranian government.

It was stated that it was thought that he was considering a limited strike on power plants and bridges instead.

According to the report, ground operations could also be considered to seize key oil export terminals on Kharg Island in the Gulf or to recover approximately 440 kilograms of 60 percent enriched uranium in Iran’s possession.
