Weight loss in 2026: Fitness coach with over 17 years’ experience shares four surprising mindset changes you need to know

Raj Ganpath, a fitness coach with over 17 years of experience, shared four mindset shifts you should adopt to lose weight in 2026. Many people ignore the mindset shift when it comes to weight loss and focus solely on physical and strength training. If you change the way you think about your fitness goals, it can help you lose those extra pounds in an easy, healthy, and sustainable way. If you want to be fitter and healthier in 2026, fitness coach Raj Ganpath shared four important tips to keep in mind.

Losing weight in 2026

Slow down: Raj Ganpath advises people to slow down their efforts and expectations when trying to lose weight. “The main reason we move in circles is because we’re in a hurry. We’re patient and want to get things done. We want to lose weight as quickly as possible. We want to get stronger as fast as possible. But if you slow things down, you can take things under control and make fewer mistakes. You’ll stay more focused and get a lot more done as a result,” the fitness trainer says in her Instagram video. He stated that the main reason why people fail to make progress is that they are constantly in a hurry and impatience.
Get inspired the right way: Learn how to get inspired the right way to lose excess weight, says Raj Ganpath. He advised not to be influenced by what you see on Instagram reels or other social media platforms as he only focuses on the highlights. “Everything you see on social media is just a highlight reel. So being influenced by that and trying to get you to do the same thing isn’t going to work because you can’t do it consistently. You’re also going to get frustrated because someone else seems to be doing it better than you. It doesn’t make sense. You need to be inspired by what you see and learn to apply it in your life in a way that matters to you,” he said in the video.

-See the big picture: Many people say that the new year is just the first few months, but in reality it is 12 months, 365 days. Raj Ganpath advised people who want to lose weight to spread their fitness goals over 12 months, which has 365 days, which is enough for weight loss. “Whatever your goals are, spread them out over the whole year. “Let’s say you want to lose a few kilos, it’s much better to lose one kilo a month and do it for the rest of the year, rather than trying to do it in the first few months. When you can slow things down this way, you can approach your goals with much more clarity and calm. “And as a result, you become much more effective,” he says. “If you lose 1 kilo per month and try to finish it in a few months, you will be much better.”

-Say OK and continue on your way.: “You have to learn to say it’s okay and move on,” Raj Ganpath said in his video. “Because despite your best efforts, something will always go wrong. You’ll mess up and things won’t go as planned. When that happens, it’s important not to linger and say it’s okay and move on to the next task so you can move forward,” says Raj.
