What are the main revelations from the new Epstein files release?

The U.S. Department of Justice on Friday released millions of files related to the case of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, shedding more light on his vast network of high-profile figures.

The latest dump, which is expected to be the last, contains nearly three million pages, including 180,000 images and nearly 2,000 videos, added to the case.

Early findings from the drop include emails from former British prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor inviting Epstein to Buckingham Palace years after the financier was convicted of sex crimes.

Messages from billionaire Elon Musk asked Epstein when his wildest party would be and discussed visiting his infamous island. It’s unclear whether Musk, who has not been falsely accused, visited.

In other emails, Epstein also made allegations that Bill Gates was involved in extramarital affairs. A spokesman for Gates strongly denied the “absurd” claims.

There is no suggestion that being in the files constitutes a criminal offence. Individuals featured in previous broadcasts have denied any illegal behavior involving Epstein.

Below we look at the main reveals so far.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace for dinner and “a lot of privacy” years after the financier was convicted, new documents claim.

Andrew said in an email that he traveled to London, where Epstein was staying. “We could have dinner at Buckingham Palace and have plenty of privacy,” he told Epstein.

Epstein responded: “I’m already in London [sic]. at what time? [sic] You like me and we will/will need some private time too.”

It is unclear whether a meeting was held at the palace. Independent Buckingham Palace has been contacted for comment.

The latest release also included images showing Andrew getting on all fours over a woman on the ground. While it is not clear where and when the photos were taken, the woman’s identity is also hidden.

In another message, apparently sent to Andrew, Epstein offered to introduce the then-prince to a “smart, beautiful and trustworthy” 26-year-old Russian woman named “Irina”.

The newly released files contained hundreds of documents mentioning Trump, many of which were compilations of media reports.

One filing details internal emails sent by federal investigators probing salacious accusations involving the president and Epstein. Emails from August 2025 give no indication that any claims have been substantiated. Investigators said many of the accusers were deemed not credible.

Another message, whose sender and recipient have both been redacted, reads: “How does JE feel about going to Mar-a-Lago after Christmas instead of his island?” He’s referring to Trump’s Florida club. The message comes from 2012, years after Trump said the two men had stopped socializing.

Trump has denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes. But the scandal has dogged him for months, in part because he promised to release the files during the 2024 presidential campaign, then backtracked after taking office.

Elon Musk and Epstein dated Little St. Louis, including in 2012. They discussed their visits to James several times; During these visits, Musk asked Epstein the following question: “What day/night will the craziest party on your island be?”

In a 2013 email exchange between Elon Musk and Epstein, the two had a back-and-forth about scheduling a time in January for Musk to visit the island.

Inside documentMusk wrote to Epstein on Christmas Day 2013: “Actually, I might fly out early on the 3rd. We’ll be in St Bart’s. When should we go to your island on the 2nd?” It’s unclear whether Musk visited after all.

Musk said on social media platform X on Saturday that he was “aware that some email correspondence with him may be misinterpreted and used by detractors to tarnish my name.”

“No one worked harder than me to get the Epstein files released, and I’m glad it finally happened,” Musk wrote. “I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to visit his island or fly on the ‘Lolita Express.'”

Bill Gates strongly denied the allegations in the files that he had sexual intercourse outside of marriage.

Epstein stated this claim in the 225-word draft email he sent to himself on July 18, 2013, with the subject line “invoice.”

He wrote that as an associate of Gates, he was asked to do “potentially illegal” things.

He added that Gates and his then-wife, Melinda Gates, were caught up in a “serious marital dispute” and that he helped facilitate “illegal trysts” for the billionaire.

Bill Gates’ spokesman said Independent: “These allegations are absolutely ridiculous and completely false. All these documents show is Epstein’s frustration at not having an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and smear.”

Epstein sent £10,000 to Lord Mandelson’s husband

According to the latest documents, Lord Mandelson’s husband, Reinaldo Avila da Silva, emailed Epstein in 2009 asking him for money to attend the British School of Osteopathy and cover other related expenses.

Emails show da Silva explaining the course’s expenses to Epstein; One of the emails refers to a £10,000 payment made two months after Epstein was released from prison.

Epstein told Mr da Silva: “I will transfer your loan amount immediately (sic).”

Mr da Silva then replied: “Just a quick note to thank you for the money that came into my account this morning.”

Last year, Lord Mandelson was removed from his post as the UK’s ambassador to the US following mounting pressure over his ties to Epstein. On Friday, Epstein released a statement apologizing to his victims. She insisted she was unaware of Epstein’s crimes and said she “learned the real truth about him after his death.”

A former British government minister has resigned as a member of the Labor Party after new reports emerged about his ties to disgraced US financier Jeffrey Epstein, media reported on Sunday.

According to reports, Mandelson said he did not want to “further embarrass” Labor.

“This weekend I became even more involved in the understandable anger surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, and for that I regret and am saddened,” Mandelson said in a letter to Labor, according to the BBC and other news organisations.

Mandelson said he believed allegations that Epstein made financial payments to him were false and that he would investigate them.

“I do not want to further embarrass the Labor Party by doing this and therefore I am withdrawing from my membership of the party,” the letter said.

Mandelson was a key figure in Labour’s electoral success during Tony Blair’s premiership, which began in the 1990s.

He came under renewed scrutiny last year after US lawmakers released documents including a letter in which he referred to Epstein as his “best friend” and led to his removal from his post as Britain’s ambassador to Washington.
