ICE reports more criminal migrants arrested as victim support program marks one year

Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced Thursday that it had arrested more alleged illegal immigrants convicted of various crimes; This coincides with the one-year anniversary of the agency reopening its program to support victims of immigration crime. The arrests and convictions announced by ICE have not been independently verified.
ICE’s Office for Victims of Immigration Crimes (VOICE) reopened on April 10, 2025, aiming to provide resources to victims of crimes committed by illegal immigrants and the families of victims.
The program was first launched in 2017 under President Donald Trump’s first administration, but was replaced in 2021 by a different program, the Victims Relations and Services Hotline, under the Biden administration and restarted last year after Trump returned to office.
ICE said the anniversary of the program’s reopening comes on the heels of several arrests on Wednesday of suspected illegal immigrants convicted of crimes such as harm to a child, assault and robbery. ICE did not indicate whether the individuals were newly arrested or transferred from local custody following prior convictions, nor did it specify their underlying conviction dates.

“The brave men and women of ICE law enforcement continue to target criminal illegal aliens in our communities to prevent another American from being raped, maimed, or killed by an illegal alien who should NEVER be in our country. American victims [why] “We are fighting,” Department of Homeland Security Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Lauren Bis said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Bis continued: “Yesterday, ICE arrested multiple violent attackers, including a depraved monster who injured a CHILD. With every arrest, ICE makes American communities safer. We will never stop fighting for justice for the victims of illegal alien crimes.”
The agency provided a sample of some of the arrests. ICE did not say how many total people were arrested nationwide as part of this announcement.

According to ICE, Juan Lorenzo Hurtado-Flores of Peru was convicted of criminal obstruction of breathing or circulation of a child and injury to a child in White Plains, New York.
Vu Nguyen, a Vietnamese man, was convicted of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in Pasadena, California, the agency said.
Omar Alexander Rodriguez-Grande, of El Salvador, was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Harris County, Texas, the agency said.
Guatemalan Oscar Francisco was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Palm Beach, Florida, according to the agency.

Josue Coreas-Chavez, of El Salvador, was convicted of robbery in Riverhead, New York, ICE said.
“It is unconscionable for illegal aliens to harm American citizens. But now, thanks to President Trump, we can help people victimized by criminal aliens through the VOICE Office,” ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons said last year when the program’s relaunch was announced. “I am extremely proud of ICE’s entire workforce – the officers and agents in the field who fairly enforce immigration law, the support staff who put these operations together and manage the logistics, and those who help shine a light on those who have suffered at the hands of illegal aliens.”
VOICE was replaced by the Victim Engagement and Services Line in 2021 during the Biden administration, “to serve as a more comprehensive and inclusive victim support system provided by ICE that will ensure services are available to all victims regardless of the immigration status of the victim or perpetrator.”
Then-DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said at the time: “Providing assistance to society’s most vulnerable is a fundamental American value. All people, regardless of their immigration status, should have access to victim services without fear.”
