Jim Carrey may have undergone a “significant amount” of plastic surgery to achieve his striking new look, a leading US plastic surgeon has claimed.

The Mask star, 64, sparked intense online debate when he showed up at the César Awards in Paris last Thursday looking noticeably different.

There is no evidence that Carrey has had surgery, and he has not publicly commented on this speculation.

However, many aesthetic doctors have offered their professional opinions online, suggesting that she may have opted for procedures designed to eliminate natural skin laxity and age-related volume loss.

The actor, famous for his flexible facial expressions and funny curves, turned out to have a fuller, tighter skin tone compared to his previous appearances.

Some viewers even questioned whether her eye color looked different under the light.

US-based plastic surgeon Dr. shares his name on Instagram under the name @tonyyounmd. Anthony Youn said he believes Carrey could have a “significant amount” of work.

Dr Youn, who has more than five million YouTube subscribers, said in a video that has been viewed tens of thousands of times: ‘It looks like she has had an endoscopic brow lift, as evidenced by the fact that her eyebrows are higher than before and her hairline is slightly receding.

‘I also think she may have had some Botox injected into her forehead and an upper blepharoplasty. ‘You can see that his eyelids are much more open than before.’

Dr Youn said the actor’s firmer, rounder appearance may be the result of a combination of multiple lifts and added volume.

‘He may also have had mid-face and lower face lift surgery, which will lift both his cheeks and his lower face and jowl area,’ he added.

He also suggested that fat grafting, a procedure in which fat is removed from one part of the body and transferred to another, could explain plump cheeks.

Advocates say this can produce smoother, more natural-looking results.

There is no evidence to support these claims, and Carrey’s representatives have reportedly confirmed that he personally attended the ceremony.

Dr Youn said: ‘Either Jim Carrey has had significant facial plastic surgery, or this is not Jim Carrey and is a replicant, or maybe he’s playing some sort of trick on us.’

London-based aesthetic doctor Dr Jonny Betteridge posted a video He shares to his 400,000 Instagram followers the reasons he believes Carrey’s face was stretched rather than cloned.

‘I disagree with those who think this isn’t Jim Carrey because the evidence points to facial plastic surgery,’ he said.

Looking at a photograph of herself from 2024, Dr Betteridge notes ‘obvious and expected age-related changes’, including ‘loose skin around the eyes, changes in volume in the middle and lower part of the face, and facial laxity around the neck and jawline’.

He then compared this to an image taken last week, saying: ‘Now he is 64 we can see a change in his facial architecture with the repositioning of his face. And to achieve this transformation, I think he would have had to have upper and lower blepharoplasty, midface fat injection and face and neck lift surgery.’

He added: ‘We can see a reduction in upper and lower eyelid skin, an increase in the volume of the midface and a softer contour along the jawline represented here; Here we went from a soft, slower facial lack to a firmer contour and a reduction in neck laxity.

‘When we look at the ear anatomy, we can see a change in the tragus and earlobe, which is indicative of a facelift.’
