Kerala govt. firm on Zumba in schools, seeks an end to controversy

Despite the criticism of some Muslim social organizations and clergymen who argued that the aerobic fitness dance format was patented against Islamic rules, Zumba was excavated on Sunday with the decision of introducing the sessions in public schools.

Muslim Students’ Federation (MSF) asked the government to provide evidence that Zumba could prevent the use of drugs and alcohol abuse before making the form of fitness dance in schools.

The Youth Congress condemned the movement of bringing religious thoughts to the Federation of Indian Students (SFI) and the Democratic Indian Youth Federation (DYFI) sports and art forms.
