Jorgen Strand Larsen: Crystal Palace’s £50m move for Wolves striker in doubt

Crystal Palace£50 million move wolves Forward Jorgen Strand Larsen was left hanging in the balance after the Eagles announced their intention to opt out of the deal.
Two Premier League clubs have reached an agreement in principle for 25-year-old Strand Larsen to move to Selhurst Park.
This was subject to Palace submitting a formal written offer for the Norway striker, which Wolves would accept.
However, the offer expected to arrive on Thursday has not yet been received and sources say Wolves have been informed that Palace no longer wants to continue with the deal.
It is not yet known whether the development is a negotiation tactic to agree on a lower wage.
If Strand Larsen’s move falls through, it could have an impact on Jean-Philippe Mateta’s expected exit from Selhurst Park ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
The 28-year-old French striker told Palace he wanted to leave this month, while the Eagles have become increasingly open to confirming his departure.
Nottingham Forest saw a £35m bid rejected by Palace and are set to step up their efforts to sign Mateta in the coming days. On the other hand, Juventus and AC Milan are among the other clubs that have shown concrete interest in the striker.
It is understood Mateta wants to play football in the Champions League but is open to a transfer to the City Ground.
Palace want a replacement player before approving Mateta’s departure and are set to sign versatile attacker Evann Guessand on loan from Aston Villa.
However, it’s unclear whether the Eagles will have a newly established center forward walk through the door before allowing Mateta to leave.
Meanwhile, Forest have offered £20 million for Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari, but the bid is expected to be rejected.
