What it’s like to visit a penguin colony in Antarctica or South Georgia Island: Incredible but stinky
My first encounter with the Continent is on the island of Cuverville, a good trampized path with two Gentio Penguin colonies and a good trampic path. Ice -coated setting is a magnificent natural, but penguins sit unannounced in the rocks surrounded by their own feces.
Gento Penguins on the Antarctic Peninsula.
The penguins, another day in Port Lockroy, nest under the historical British research station, which passengers like to stop and send postcards. Nevertheless, I doubt that anyone wrote about the smell circulating between the upholstery boards.
The number of penguins on the Antarctic Peninsula is impressive until it reaches Southern Georgia. On these remote Antarctic islands, which gain only a few degrees of extra temperature, the colonies reach the enormous dimension.
Glaciers can gnaw to the Gulf of Haakon, the first stop of Greg Mortimer, but Penguins that manages all the attention. The next day there is even more in the Salisbury Plain, and is drawn to the distance until Nature has dot announcements on the wide canvas.
The penguins themselves are also great, because you meet King Penguins in South Georgia. They produce a cacophonia, İnelegant Honks and Caws and a smell of fish that must be experienced.
In wildlife documentaries and animated films, penguins are always worried. In real life, they stand in motionless, heads them in the intimidation, or perhaps gloom in the cold. They just reflect the atmosphere of a hurry and purpose while walking.
Penguins are not the most adventurous creatures. They remain loyal to the settled roads and try to walk immediately when you are on the road. You cannot approach another wild animal, another reason for its permanent effects.
One of our last penguin views is in the Gulf of St Andrews. King Penguin Rooker, the largest in South Georgia, may contain half a million birds. It is one of the most amazing wild life matches you have ever experienced and one of the most amazing smells.
