Naval Commander Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on Tuesday clarified that the assertive position and rapid mobilization of the Indian Navy during Operation Sindoor forced the Pakistan Navy to remain confined to its home ports and the Makran coast.
Speaking to ANI, the Navy Chief said that the deployment of India’s aircraft carrier battle group played a decisive role in limiting Pakistan’s naval activities during the clashes in May. Admiral Tripathi said, “The aggressive stance and immediate action regarding the deployment of the carrier battle group during Op Sindoor forced the Pakistan Navy to remain close to its home ports or the Makran coast.”
In addition, the official emphasized that Operation Sindoor is still continuing and announced that the mission has not been officially concluded. “This is an ongoing operation,” he repeated.

Economic Impact on Pakistan
Admiral Tripathi stated that the operation had significant financial repercussions for Pakistan, as many commercial ships have chosen to avoid Pakistani waters since the conflict. He also said that insurance premiums for ships traveling to Pakistan have also increased, increasing the economic pressure on Islamabad.
Overview of Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor was launched by Indian security forces on the night of May 7, targeting the terrorist infrastructure deep within Pakistani territory. The attack was carried out in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and resulted in the killing of more than 100 terrorists.
A brief skirmish followed; Meanwhile, India destroyed Pakistan’s crucial military infrastructure after further escalating tensions from Islamabad. The conflict ended on May 10 when both sides agreed to a ceasefire.
Rajnath Singh in Operation
Addressing the graduation ceremony of the 100th Common Core Course held at LBSNAA in Mussoorie, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh described Operation Sindoor as a remarkable example of civil-military coordination.
He highlighted how administrative systems worked closely with the Armed Forces, sharing vital information and increasing public confidence throughout the operation. Singh urged young civil servants to realize their critical responsibilities in protecting national interests, especially during emergencies.
“During Operation Sindoor, the Armed Forces destroyed terror camps in Pakistan and PoK in a balanced and non-escalatory response, but it was the neighboring country’s misbehavior that did not allow the situation along the border to normalise,” he said.
The Minister also praised the administrative officers for effectively communicating important updates and contributing to the smooth conduct of the operation by overseeing trial exercises across the country.
