Dairy Pioneer Rama Reddy Honoured
Hyderabad: On the eve of Republic Day, the Central Government on Sunday announced the Padma Awards 2026, which recognize outstanding contributions in various fields. Two eminent personalities from Telugu states found a place in this year’s list.
Dr., a leading scientist at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad. Kumarasamy Thangaraj was awarded the Padma Shri for his pioneering research on human evolution and genetic disorders. With over thirty years of scientific work, Dr. Thangaraj is known worldwide for his contributions to molecular genetics.
Rama Reddy Mamidi from Telangana was also awarded the Padma Shri award, honoring him for his significant efforts in improving animal husbandry and transforming the dairy sector through innovative practices.
