Charlie Kirk’s widow shares grief journey one month after assassination

Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist and Turning Point USA (TPUSA) co-founder Charlie Kirk, addressed her grief process for her late husband in a social media post a month after he was assassinated during a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University on September 10.
“Grief has no linear plan,” he wrote instagram Friday. “One day you collapse and scream the name of Jesus between breaths.”

“The next thing you know, you’re playing with your kids in the living room, surrounded by family photos, and as a smile appears on your face, you feel the excitement of something you can only try to describe as divinely planted and bittersweet joy,” he added.
A video accompanying the post shows the couple and their children, with a voice-over from Charlie Kirk defending the values of marriage and family. It also shows the September 21 commemoration ceremony held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Kirk, who has since become head of TPUSA, a conservative-causing nonprofit founded by her husband, said she “carried my Charlie with every breath, every pain, and every quiet act of daily living as I tried to relearn what that rhythm would be.”

Kirk said she forgives Tyler Robinson, who is accused of killing her husband in Orem, Utah.
A video of a grieving widow crying over her husband’s coffin has gone viral. The couple met in 2018 and have two young daughters.

“And over the last 30 days I’ve realized that the greater the pain, the purer the love,” he wrote. “And I never loved him more than I do now.”
